METHOD & APPROACH
These steps are solid fundamentals that work for most training and behavior issues. Still, every dog is unique and responds in their own way. That's where we help you get the most out of each session!
1. Teaching Learned Behaviors
Teaching learned behaviors works best through motivation. By using what your dog naturally enjoys. Treats, praise, play, and affirmation. We make training fun, engaging, and highly effective. Most dogs thrive when learning this way.
2. Layering in Reinforcements
This is a crucial part many dog owners miss. We focus on creating multiple ways to motivate your dog so they want to perform the behaviors—not just when you have a treat. Without this skill, you’re always at the mercy of whatever your dog wants in the moment. The real goal is teaching your dog to respond reliably, even when they’re distracted or not naturally inclined to listen. This is the piece most people truly need.
3. Application
Once your dog understands a behavior and we’ve built strong reinforcement around it, we can begin applying it to real-life situations. Most people try to do this too early. Our approach is to first ensure your dog has a clear understanding of what’s being asked before testing them in challenging, real-world scenarios. This builds confidence, clarity, and long-term reliability.
Why True Loyalty?
True Loyalty is for people who want to be involved, not just hand the leash over and hope for the best. Real progress happens inside your everyday life, so I coach you through the process in your home, around your routines and real-world distractions. You’ll understand what you’re doing, why it works, and how to handle challenges as they come up. Every dog and every household is different, your training should reflect that.
